MIA DIRECTOR, DAVID HARRIS, TO CYCLE 2,350 KM STARTING JANUARY 1, 2009

The Winter Ride Kicks Off the First Annual Museum of Inuit Art Membership Drive

To raise awareness of the Museum of Inuit Art and the Membership Drive, MIA Director and Co-founder, David Harris, will cycle up to 7 days per week in challenging winter weather conditions during 2.5 hour roundtrip commutes to MIA from January 1, 2009 through April. This winter ride is a bid to cycle a total of 2,350 km, equivalent to the distance from Toronto to Iqaluit, the capital of the Territory of Nunavut in the Canadian Arctic. Mr. Harris will be cycling, often in temperatures well below zero Celsius, in rain, hail, sleet and snow, and whatever else a Toronto winter brings. The winter ride will culminate in April in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the founding of Nunavut - with a special celebration April 1st, 2009 at the Museum.

Maximum Speed on Mar-18-2009 was 63.0 KM/H
